沼田の実家に福寿草と一緒にすみれが咲いていた。
すみれというと三色スミレ、ビオラ、パンジーなど色々な呼び名があるものだ程度にしか興味はなかった。
今回何という花だろうと思って調べてみたら、これこそがスミレで牧野富太郎が名付けたということを初めて知った。沢山の種類があるのに驚いた。これはたちつぼスミレらしい。今までのスミレのイメージからははるかに小さい。春はいいな、楽しい。
