要注意の特定外来植物、持ち運びも規制対象とのこと。繁殖力が旺盛で日本全国にあるとのこと。そういう先入観で観ると確かに少々どぎつい、日本サクラソウに対する西洋サクラソウのそれに近い気もする。
似たようなものに和名キンケイギクとか流通通称キンケイギクとか混乱して似たようなものがあるが、皆外来種とのこと。
